New Poll Shows Slight Lead for Sask Party in Saskatoon
November 5, 2007 (Saskatoon, SK) An independent electoral poll conducted with 800 Saskatoon residents shows the Saskatchewan Party in the lead with support from 45.0% of decided voters.The poll, conducted by Insightrix Research, Inc. of Saskatoon, was administered by telephone to a random selection of Saskatoon residents from October 31 to November 3, 2007.
Amongst the 800 respondents polled, the Saskatchewan Party is in the lead with 31.0%, followed by 26.1% for the NDP, 9.5% for the Liberal Party, 2.6% for the Green Party, 1.4% for other parties, and 2.2% that do not plan to vote. Another 27.2% are undecided – down from 37.7% as reported in the Insightrix October 12 poll results of Saskatoon residents.
Among decided voters who are planning on voting for or leaning toward a specific party, 45% plan to vote or are leaning towards the Sask Party, 36.7% for the NDP, 12.9% for the Liberal Party, 3.7% for the Green Party, and 1.7% for other parties. This compares to the October 12 voting poll where among decided voters, 39.4% plan to vote or are leaning towards the Saskatchewan Party, 33.6% for NDP, 16.1% for the Liberals, 5.9% for the Green Party, and 4.7% for other parties.
Intent to vote is strong in Saskatoon with 80.8% claiming they are very likely to vote on Wednesday, and a further 11.0% stating they are somewhat likely to vote.
Reviewing support among decided voters within the Saskatoon ridings reveals both decisive leads and some tight races. The Saskatchewan Party has the strongest lead in Saskatoon Silver Springs and Saskatoon Southeast. Ridings with the tightest races between the NDP and the Saskatchewan Party include: Saskatoon Eastview, Saskatoon Greystone, Saskatoon Massey and Saskatoon Sutherland.
Comparing voting intention to 2003 highlights that 93.2% of those who voted for the Saskatchewan Party in the last provincial election intend to vote for the party again on Wednesday; 69.1% of those who voted for the NDP in 2003 intend to do so again in two days. Fourteen percent (14.0%) of previous NDP supporters intent to vote for the Saskatchewan Party while 6.8% plan to cast their ballot in favour of the Liberals.

August 26th, 2010 (Saskatoon, SK). A new online poll conducted by Insightrix Research Inc. on behalf of CJME and CKOM radio shows that 55% of Saskatchewan residents either strongly oppose (28%) or somewhat oppose (27%) BHP Billiton acquiring PotashCorp in its recently announced hostile takeover attempt. In contrast, only 14% support such a move by BHP Billiton, while 22% are indifferent on the issue and another 10% are unsure on the matter.
